Mark Parker, BA, MIMMM;
Executive Director and CEO
Mark Parker is a geophysicist and exploration entrepreneur with 44 years’ experience in exploration and corporate management in Africa, Europe, South-East Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. He is managing director of Equator Gold Holdings Ltd, a Jersey-incorporated public company exploring for gold in South Sudan. He is also Chairman of IGS Ltd, a global geoscience consultancy spun out of the British Geological Survey and of Andiamo Exploration Ltd, a UK-incorporated exploration company active in Eritrea.
Mark was founder and managing director until 2011 of African Eagle Resources plc, an AIM-listed company which discovered the 100 million tonne Dutwa nickel resource in Tanzania. African Eagle also operated in Zambia, Mozambique and elsewhere in Tanzania. He was responsible for African Eagle’s IPO in 2000, its admission to AIM in 2003 and its listing on the JSE AltX in 2007. He negotiated a significant investment into African Eagle by IFC, part of the World Bank, and several joint ventures with major international mining companies. Companies he has led have raised more than GBP 40 million through equity subscriptions.
Previously Mark worked in the British Geological Survey, Hunting Geology and Geophysics, Ark Geophysics and as a consultant. Mark is a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and a Qualified Person for reporting exploration results.
John Carlile, BSc, MSc, DIC, FAusIMM, FGS;
A Jersey-based geologist with more than 35 years in mineral exploration, mostly gold and base metals in the East Asian region, especially Indonesia. With multi-national companies (BHP, Utah, MEM and Newcrest) from 1979 to 1996, he then joined Indonesian company PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya, serving on boards of group companies including Pearl Energy (Chairman, 2003 to 2006) and ARC Exploration (MD/CEO 2008 to 2013).
William J G Bennett;
Independent Non-executive Director
An English solicitor based in Jersey, William set up Garfield-Bennett Trust Company Limited, undertaking trust and company work and services business. Sits on the boards of a number of companies including property and investment holding and is a trustee on a number of private client trusts. William is also a director of a property fund and a distressed asset fund that invests in European and Asian business

A Solicitor, Michael spent five years in the City and become legal director for International Process Industries. He established his own practice in 1978 and was a partner in Nigel Harris & Partners in Jersey, becoming head of Rathbones worldwide trust division. He is a director of Channel Islands subsidiaries of several FTSE 100 and other companies and funds

Equator’s Technical Advisory Group consists of the directors of the UK-based services company, Equator Gold Limited (EGL) and the Exploration Manager. Mark Parker sits on both the TAG and the Main Board.
Emma Parker, BSc, MSc, TEFL;
COO and Executive Director of EGL
Emma Parker is an environmental scientist who has worked on exploration and mining projects in eastern and central Africa. Emma has global experience in a number of sectors, working extensively throughout sub-Saharan Africa for the last 9 years. Emma currently sits as President of the US board of a Tanzanian-run orphanage and is actively involved in strategic planning, development and fundraising for the organisation.
Jeffrey Francis Anthony (Jeff) Malaihollo, PhD, BA, FGS, MAusIMM;
Non-executive Chairman of EGL
Dr Malaihollo founded GGG plc, formerly Central China Goldfields, and was its Managing Director until its 2012 merger with Bullabulling Gold Limited. From 2000 to 2004, Jeff was an Executive Director at Loeb Aron & Company Ltd, London corporate financiers specialising in natural resources. Previously, he worked for Newcrest on grass roots exploration for gold and base metals, Rio Tinto on area selection and project evaluation in the Former Soviet Union and Indonesia, and Billiton on generative programmes and target selection in South East Asia, China and Eastern Europe.
Robert Peter (Bob) Foster, PhD, BSc, FIMMM, CEng, FGS, CGeol;
Non-executive Director of EGL
Dr Foster is a professional economic geologist with 37 years of experience in exploration, mining, and applied academic posts, having worked in Europe, Central Asia, North and South America, and throughout Africa. He has particular expertise in gold genesis and exploration, and has published extensively on these topics. Currently CEO of Stratex International plc, Bob previously worked as Minerals Manager for UK-based international consultancy group Exploration Consultants Limited, as lecturer and research scientist at Southampton University and in the mining industry in Zimbabwe.
Geert Trappeniers, BSc, MSc;
Geert Trappeniers has over 15 years experience as an exploration geologist, including diamonds and gold in Africa, PGE, base metals, mineral sands, REE and industrial minerals in Europe and the Middle East. His experience includes 10 years in general, exploration and mine management with startup mining projects including diamond and gold projects in Angola and DRC, and industrial minerals and gold projects in Europe and the Middle East.
